  • First line of defense; officers are trained to attempt verbal resolution before any physical force.
     
• Defensive Holds & Control Techniques
  • Includes joint locks, wrist holds, and escorting methods to control an aggressive person without causing serious injury.
     
• Handcuffs / Restraints
  • Used to safely detain individuals until law enforcement arrives.

These are designed to prevent or stop threats without causing serious bodily harm:

• Security Baton / Nightstick (if applicable; check local laws)
  • Optional depending on location and training.
     
• Body Language & Positioning
  • Officers are trained to use presence, positioning, and movement to discourage aggressive behavior.
     
• Flashlights, Radios, and Communication Devices
  • Used to control situations, coordinate response, and call for law enforcement backup when needed.
